It’s been a while since my last donation and I thought that it was time to go back especially since it’s the holiday season. This time around, I actually managed to get pictures! Well, not of the actual insertion of the needles as it freaks me out too much to actually witness it. What I do have are pictures of the various stages of the process. A word of caution, if blood freaks you out, turn away NOW.
Taken after they inserted the tubing with the needle into my arm. You can see my blood in the tube. You never realise how warm your blood is until you have the tube taped to your arm. The stres ball I’m holding is a mini blood bag. I couldn’t feel a thing when they inserted the needle into the vein since they gave me a shot of anaesthetic before that. THAT shot hurt.
So there you have it. My day out at the blood bank. You can actually check the bloodstock at the bank here.
