That’s exactly what I asked myself when I signed up for NaBloPoMo last year, on top of my NaNoWriMo commitment. When they opened registration for both today, once again I signed up for them. Is that insane or what? This means that I’ll spending many, many hours on the computer; not that I haven’t been doing that already.
Last year’s NaBloPoMo entries can be found here.
This year, the NaBloPoMo site has moved to NaBloPoMo.com. At last check, there were 512 registered members. That’s a hell of a lot of blogs. Can you imagine, a post a day for a whole month from 512 blogs? Mind boggling. I hope that they have the log randomiser again. That was a cool feature. I got to read so many different blogs with just one button.
Like I said earlier, I signed up for NaNoWriMo for the third time. The previous two years, I didn’t manage to complete my novels but this year, this year will be different. I will complete my novel even if my body may pay for it later. They say that third time’s a charm right? I just hope that the real life stuff doesn’t get in the way of writing.
This year, I won’t be pestering the people I know to join NaNoWriMo because everyone seems to be busy. I don’t think they’re as obsessed about this as much as I am. It doesn’t matter really, as long as the rest of the WriMos come back, all will be good. I’m really excited that the forums are open but so far, the Singapore forum isn’t active yet. Once everyone starts coming in, that’s when the party begins. It’s like meeting old friends. At least that’s what I think. All they need to do is to stop the bloody notifications. They’ve been sending me all this notifications for topics that I didn’t even subscribe to. Once they fix that, all is golden.
Currently, I’ve been reading No Plot? No Problem! for tips on writing. So far, they’re just re-iterating what I’ve been thinking this past year after the last NaNoWriMo. I’m just going to start what little research I need in the last week of October. At least that way, I hope that I won’t run out of steam. I’ve got a bare semblance of a plot but that’s about it. I think I’m just going to wing it and see how it goes.
In other non-writing news, make sure you guys come back tomorrow for The Great Mofo Delurk 2007. *points to the cute little button on the left* Leave comments at all the blogs that you visit, especially this one. So until then.
