I just came back from spending the weekend with my family in JB. It’s been so long since we went away as a family and even though I have numerous mosquito bites as souvernirs, I did have fun.
We went out for sushi on Saturday afternoon. As usual we scarfed down the sushi like there’s no tomorrow. I think we had a total of 27 plates of various colours. The staff stared at us like some zoo exhibit because I don’t think they have ever seen three petite girls (it was only us sisters since my parents hate Japanese food) put away that much sushi in under 20 minutes. Of course, we also spoke a lot of English which the local Malays don’t really do all that much.
I found out the next day that I had become the main course in some blood buffet. Fortunately, it’s not itching and I hope I don’t get a fever. One can never be too careful about these things. Anyway, we visited my paternal grandmother and stayed for lunch. She was rather put out that we had to leave so soon after lunch but it was nice visiting her and other various relatives.
All in all, the weekend was fun but I’m glad that I’m back home where I have my own bed and where I’m much more familiar with the environment.
